The NYeC Gala and Award Ceremony
Hosted by the NYeC’s board of directors, the Gala and Award Ceremony took place at Chelsea Piers on December 1st. It was an elegant evening of cocktails and dining to celebrate the advancements and accomplishments in health IT throughout New York State. Catering was provided by Abigail Kirsch, and music by Julia Haltigan. Carol Raphael, Chair of the NYeC board of directors, presented the awards, and along with NYeC Executive Director, David Whitlinger, welcomed them to the stage. Those honored included: Farzad Mostashari, MD, ScM, National Coordinator for HealthIT, Office of the National Coordinator; The Rochester Business Alliance; Markle Foundation. Special Recognition Awards were also given to individuals at the New York State Department of Health: Lori Evans Bernstein, MPH – President, GSI Health; Rachel Block – Deputy Commissioner for HIT Transformation, NYS Department of Health; Richard F. Daines, MD (1951-2011) – Former New York State Commissioner of Health; C. William Schroth – President, Hudson Highland Advisors; Nirav R. Shah, MD, MPR – New York State Commissioner of Health, New York State Department of Health; and Dennis Whalen – Executive Vice President, Healthcare Association of New York State.
Proceeds from the gala will benefit technology-enabled healthcare transformation in New York.
