Collaborative Workgroups
NYeC is facilitating the Statewide Collaboration Process (SCP) through which several multi-stakeholder work groups are developing key policies, technical requirements and operational assistance for the HEAL NY Health IT program. There are four work groups:

Clinical Priorities Work Group
Mission:
- Define clinical priorities that best demonstrate critical areas and opportunities for improvement in both the quality and efficiency of health care for New Yorkers to guide the implementation of New York’s Health Information Infrastructure.
- Demonstrate and communicate the value of interoperable health IT adoption and effective use to clinicians and other stakeholders
- Develop clinical requirements, identify workflow issues, and advance policy recommendations to help drive and test the development of policies, protocols and standards for New York’s Health Information Infrastructure, including the Statewide Health Information Network for New York, electronic health records, personal health records, and clinical informatics services.

Privacy and Security Work Group
Mission:
- Protect privacy, strengthen security, ensure affirmative and informed consent, and support the right of New Yorkers to have greater control over and access to their personal health information as foundational requirements for interoperable HIE

Mission:

EHR Collaborative Work Group
Mission:
- Support the deployment of electronic health records (EHRs) in current and future HEAL projects to demonstrate and catalyze realization of transformative value and improved health care quality, affordability and outcomes across New York. Facilitate development of associated policies, standards, technical approaches, and services necessary for successful and sustainable adoption of inter-operating electronic health records across New York.
